While society is making headway when it comes to resiliency, still more can be done. For example, the federal government does not actively mandate resilient design, even in the areas most prone to disaster.

 

Everyday resiliency requires a comprehensive approach, one in which the private sector works with the government to enact smart policies that protect people, property and commerce — and designers provide an essential voice in the conversation.
